"Thank you." Olive-toes said. "I had a great teacher."

"My mother. She was killed when Turnatt came here. I once heard that she helped the slavebirds escape. I miss her greatly," Olive-toes said.

((Lol remember the goldfinch that said something to TIlossis in Swordbird? That's who I'm refering to. That's what fanfics/RPs sometumes have, charries from the books))

(Awesome idea :'D I do remember that, actually!)

Piplock frowned. "Oh... that's so sad." She whimpered. She was thinking of her own parents now, too. They had been taken away by Slime-beak to become slaves of Turnatt, but had died on the way. In a way, Piplock wondered if that was good. If it had been better to die then, then go through the torture at that hawk's fortress.

He caused so much pain... she thought sadly. Shaking her head to clear it of the bad memories, Piplock gave some encouragement: "I bet she would be really proud of you!" She smiled.

Olive-toes nodded. "She would. Now I don't remember if I told you about the tribe I'm starting...did I?"

"Tribe?" Piplock was instantly interested. "I... I've never been part of a tribe..." Turnatt had destroyed her tribe when she was just an egg. She and a bird named Layoh were the only survivors; Layoh had hid her egg and raised her once she was hatched. Later in life, Layoh had died of sickness, and Piplock missed her dearly. But now, now she could really be part of a tribe, maybe, finally!

"I am starting a tribe of goldfinches. I plan to call it Sundown. Would you like to be a part of it?" Olive-toes asked.

"Sure," Olive-toes laughed good-naturedly. "I'll be glad to have you along. And you too, Duolc."

The elderly male goldfinch nodded. "It would be my pleasure."

Olive-toes nodded before quickly running her beak through her feathers to straighten them. "Alright, Piplock," she said, "Let's go west first. There's some uncharted area there."

Olive-toes led Piplock and Duolc over the trees. They eventually passed over a clearing, but Olive-toes pretended not to notice it.

((Uh-oh....more deep and revealing charrie history coming up here soon...))

Piplock pointed at the clearing, laughing. "Hey, Olive-toes, haha, slow down!" she called. "This place looks perfect." She spoke dreamily.

"You're being nothing but foolish, Piplock. There is nothing there," Olive-toes muttered, flying faster than before and only hoping that the younger finch would follow her.

"Then where am I sitting?!" Piplock growled. "I KNOW you can see this place! If you're that weird and stubborn of a bird, then I just think I won't join your tribe! Hmph"

"Do not meddle in matters that you know nothing of, Piplock." Olive-toes murmured despairingly.

"My history is mine and my own. You have no right to meddle in it. This place...with it's shelter comes many bad memories. It is not a sacrifice I am willing to make, being safe but being tortured by memories," Olive-toes muttered, not facing Piplock.
